To clean the Bodum Bistro Electric Water Kettle and remove scale buildup, follow these steps:
1. Prepare a cleaning solution: You can use a proprietary descaling product suitable for plastic kettles, following the instructions carefully, or you can use citric acid.
2. For citric acid cleaning: Boil 500 ml (2 cups) of water and add 30 grams (1 ounce) of lime or lemon juice gradually. Then, unplug the kettle and place it in an empty sink or bowl. Leave the kettle to stand.
3. Empty and rinse: Once the effervescence subsides, empty the kettle and rinse it thoroughly with cold water. Wipe the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth to remove any traces of citric acid.
4. Do not use chemicals or abrasive agents: Avoid using chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive agents to clean the exterior of the kettle. Only use a damp cloth for cleaning.
Note: It is important to regularly clean the scale filter (if applicable) by gently brushing it with a soft brush under running water.
