There are several possible reasons why the pilot on your heater may not be staying lit. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Make sure the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is fully open.
2. Press the control xxxx fully in the pilot position while pressing the ignition button. Keep the control xxxx pressed in for at least 30 seconds after the pilot lights.
3. Check for any air in the gas line by repeating the ignition operation until the air is removed.
4. Clean the ODS/pilot assembly to ensure it is not clogged or dirty. Refer to the Cleaning and Maintenance section of the manual for instructions on how to clean the ODS/pilot.
5. Check the gas regulator setting to ensure it is correct. If the inlet gas pressure is too low, contact your local gas company for assistance.
6. Make sure the thermocouple connection is tight at the control valve. If the thermocouple is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
7. If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the control valve or burner. In this case, it is recommended to contact a qualified service person or the gas supplier for further assistance.
Please refer to the Operating Instructions and Troubleshooting sections of the manual for more detailed information and diagrams.
