To light the pilot on the Mr. Heater MHVFBF30LPBT 30K Vent Free Blue Flame Propane Heater, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is fully open.
2. Push in the gas control xxxx and slightly turn it clockwise to the OFF position.
3. Wait for at least five minutes to allow any gas to clear out.
4. Smell for gas around the appliance area, including near the floor. If you smell gas, do not proceed and follow the safety instructions provided in the manual.
5. With the gas control xxxx pressed in, turn it counterclockwise to the PILOT position.
6. Continue to hold the control xxxx in for five seconds.
7. While still holding the control xxxx in, press down and release the ignition button to light the pilot. If needed, continue pressing the ignition button until the pilot lights.
8. Keep holding the control xxxx in for 30 seconds after the pilot is lit.
9. Release the control xxxx and turn it counterclockwise to the desired heat level.
10. The main burner should now light.
If the pilot does not stay lit or there is no spark at the pilot when the ignitor button is pressed, refer to the troubleshooting section in the manual or contact a qualified service person or gas supplier for assistance.
