To calibrate the Tanita HD-394 Black Compact Digital Scale, follow these steps:
1. Place the scale on a hard and level surface.
2. Ensure that the scale is turned off.
3. Press and hold the "UNIT" button for approximately 3 seconds until the display shows "CAL".
4. Release the "UNIT" button. The display will show "0.0" and then "CAL".
5. Step onto the scale gently and wait for the display to show your weight.
6. Once your weight is displayed, step off the scale.
7. The scale will automatically calibrate and show "CAL" briefly.
8. The scale is now calibrated and ready for use.
It is important to note that the scale should be calibrated whenever it is moved or when the scale is not functioning properly. Additionally, it is recommended to perform the calibration process with bare feet for accurate weight measurements.
