To set the tap value on the Rockville WET-6525B speakers, locate the tap switch at the rear of the speakers. The tap switch has four settings: 3.75W, 7.5W, 15W, and 30W. The tap value determines the amount of power the built-in transformer allows the speaker to receive from the amplifier.
To set the tap value, simply turn the selector xxxx to the desired setting. For example, if you want to set the speakers to receive 15 watts of power, turn the xxxx to the "15W" position. The tap value can be customized for each speaker based on the desired sound level and the space in which the speakers are installed.
It is important to note that the total number of speakers multiplied by the tap value should not exceed the output power (in watts) of your 70V amplifier. For example, if you have five speakers and each speaker is tapped at 15 watts, you will need an amplifier with at least 75 watts (5 x 15 = 75W). It is recommended to select an amplifier with 15% to 20% greater power than the combined tap value of the speakers.
For further information and guidance on setting up the 70V speaker configuration, please refer to the Rockville WET-6525B Commercial Indoor/Outdoor Wall Speakers Instruction Manual.
