Yes, you can use LTO-6 tapes with an LTO-7 tape drive. LTO-7 tape drives are backward compatible with previous generations of LTO tapes, including LTO-6. However, please note that when using LTO-6 tapes in an LTO-7 drive, you will only be able to write data to the tape at LTO-6 specifications, not at the higher capacity and transfer rate of LTO-7. You will still be able to read data from LTO-6 tapes on an LTO-7 drive.
