To change the stimulation level on the Educator ET-400 E-collar, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the Transmitter.
2. Set the intensity dial to "O" (zero).
3. Make sure the collar receiver is turned off.
4. Place the Transmitter's Red Dot against the Collar Receiver's Red Dot for more than 5 seconds. The green light on the Receiver will flash rapidly.
5. Immediately after, press and hold the Black "S" Button followed by the Red "S" Button until you hear a confirmation sound from the Collar Receiver.
6. The stimulation level is now unlocked and ready for adjustment.
7. Rotate the stimulation dial clockwise to increase the stimulation level or counter-clockwise to lower the stimulation level.
8. Find the appropriate stimulation level for your dog's training needs.
9. To lock the stimulation level, press on the top of the stimulation dial until you see the "1 D" light up on the top portion of the LCD display. A solid "1 D" indicates locked stimulation.
10. If you need to unlock the stimulation level, simply press the stimulation xxxx again.
It is important to find the correct stimulation level for your dog. Start with a low level and gradually increase it until you find the level that gets your dog's attention without causing discomfort. The manual recommends setting a "conditioning" stimulation level first, which is the level at which your dog first perceives the stimulation. The boosted level is typically 5 to 20 levels higher than the conditioning level and can be used for situations when your dog does not respond to the conditioning level. Remember to always use the lowest effective stimulation level for training.
