To connect the Definitive Technology NDKA ProMonitor 1000 Bookshelf Speakers to your amplifier or receiver, follow these steps:
1. Identify the terminals on the speakers: Each speaker has two terminals, one colored red (+) and the other colored black (-).
2. Connect the red (+) terminal of each speaker to the red (+) terminal of its corresponding channel on your amplifier or receiver.
3. Connect the black (-) terminal of each speaker to the black (-) terminal of its corresponding channel on your amplifier or receiver.
4. Make sure both speakers are connected in the same way to the amplifier or receiver (in phase). If one speaker is out of phase, you may experience a lack of bass.
5. If you are using the ProMonitor speakers in conjunction with a ProSub, you can connect them directly to the left and right channels of your amplifier or receiver, or to the speaker level outputs on the ProSub.
6. If connecting to a ProSub, wire the red (+) terminal of each ProMonitor speaker to the corresponding red (+) speaker wire output on the back of the ProSub. Wire the black (-) terminal of each ProMonitor speaker to the corresponding black (-) speaker wire output on the back of the ProSub.
7. Set the low frequency filter control on the back of the ProSub to the recommended setting described in the ProSub Owner's Manual. Adjust the subwoofer level control to achieve the desired bass level.
8. If using the speakers in a home theater setup, follow the specific instructions provided in the manual for Dolby ProLogic and Dolby Digital AC-3 systems.
