To adjust the recording levels on the Tascam DR-05X portable audio recorder, follow these steps:
1. Press the MENU button to enter the menu mode.
2. Use the + or - buttons to navigate to the "REC" menu and press the MENU button to enter.
3. Use the + or - buttons to navigate to the "REC LEVEL" option and press the MENU button to enter.
4. The current recording level will be displayed on the screen. Use the + or - buttons to adjust the level.
5. Press the MENU button to exit the menu mode.
Note: It is recommended to set the recording level so that the peak indicator does not light up frequently during recording. Adjust the level based on the loudest sound you expect to record to avoid distortion.
