To adjust the recording level on the Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder, follow these steps:
1. Power on the recorder by sliding the power switch to the ON position.
2. Press the MENU button to enter the menu mode.
3. Use the scroll wheel to navigate to the "REC" menu and press the scroll wheel to select it.
4. In the "REC" menu, use the scroll wheel to navigate to the "Input Level" option and press the scroll wheel to select it.
5. The current recording level will be displayed on the screen. Use the scroll wheel to adjust the level up or down.
- Turning the scroll wheel clockwise increases the level.
- Turning the scroll wheel counterclockwise decreases the level.
6. While adjusting the level, you can monitor the input level meter on the screen to ensure it stays within an optimal range. Avoid letting the meter reach the maximum level (clipping) or staying too low (resulting in low volume).
7. Once you have set the desired recording level, press the MENU button to exit the menu mode.
It's important to note that the optimal recording level may vary depending on the sound source and the environment. It's recommended to do a test recording and adjust the level accordingly to achieve the best results. Additionally, you can also use the built-in limiter function to prevent clipping if necessary.
