To connect your Infinity R263 Black 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers to your amplifier or receiver, follow these steps:
1. Use a minimum #16-gauge speaker wire with polarity coding. The side of the wire with a ridge or other coding is usually considered positive polarity (+).
2. Identify the terminals on the back of the speakers. The most common connection is to connect bare wires to the terminals.
3. To ensure proper polarity, connect each + terminal on the back of the amplifier or receiver to the respective + (red) terminal on each speaker. Connect the - (black) terminals in a similar way.
4. Refer to Figure 6 in the owner's manual for a wiring diagram that shows polarity connections for one channel of a stereo or home theater system.
5. If you prefer to bi-wire the speakers, the R263 speakers have two sets of input terminals that are connected by metal jumper bars. Before bi-wiring the speakers, remove the jumper bars. Refer to the manual for diagrams and instructions on single-amplifier bi-wiring and dual-amplifier bi-wiring.
