To connect your Kanto SUB8VMW subwoofer to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the ON/OFF switch on the subwoofer is in the OFF position before connecting any component.
2. Decide on the appropriate placement for your subwoofer. While the positioning of the subwoofer is less critical than other speakers, it is recommended to place it between the left and right speakers or in the vicinity of either the left or right channel speaker.
3. Connect the subwoofer to your audio system using the Line Level Input. If you have a stereo system, you can connect the subwoofer to either the Left or Right Line Level Input. If your components have both L/R subwoofer outputs or L/R preamplifier outputs, it is recommended to use both Left and Right Line Level Input channels.
4. Use an RCA cable to connect the Line Level Output of your audio system to the Line Level Input of the subwoofer.
5. Set the Low-Pass Filter Control on the rear panel of the subwoofer to the appropriate frequency range. This control sets the upper limit of the frequencies that the subwoofer will reproduce, typically within the range of 40Hz-120Hz. Refer to your main speakers' manufacturer's information for the recommended cut-off frequency.
6. Set the Phase Switch on the rear panel of the subwoofer to 0° by default. If the subwoofer is positioned significantly farther from the main speakers or if the phase signal is inverted in your stereo setup, you can try setting the Phase Switch to 180°. Listen to both positions and select the setting that provides the fullest sound.
7. After connecting all cables, ensure that the ON/OFF switch on the subwoofer is turned ON.
