To set up the Moultrie MCG-14001 Bundle Trail Camera, please follow these steps:
1. Before you go:
- Open the unit and ensure that both wires are connected to the battery. Close the unit.
- Make sure the 12-volt battery in the unit is fully charged.
- Familiarize yourself with the LED operation:
- Red Blinking = Charging
- Red Solid = Charged
- Gather all the straps, cables, and instructions needed for installation.
2. Location selection:
- Find a suitable tree or structure to mount the 12V Dual Solar Battery Box. Ensure that it is close enough to the accessory so that the attached power cable can reach.
- Check the proposed location of the unit at 10AM, 12PM, and 2PM to ensure there is a direct path to the sun without any obstructions between these times.
- Avoid mounting the battery box on a dead tree or in a location where something may fall on it.
3. Mounting:
- Securely mount the unit on the structure using the provided strap or another secure mounting method.
- Ensure that the battery box is securely mounted by trying to move the unit up and down and back and forth. There should be little movement when properly mounted.
- Connect the camera or accessory to the unit and secure the wiring. Ensure that the connections are fully plugged in, secure, and watertight.
4. Before you leave checklist:
- Confirm that all cables are routed, connected, and secure.
- Check that the device being powered is showing 100% battery life.
- Ensure that the AC adapter input environmental protection plug is firmly inserted into the AC input port.
