To install the JBL Professional C24CT-BK Foreground Ceiling Loudspeaker, follow these steps:
1. Start by preparing the installation location. Ensure that the ceiling material is suitable for supporting the speaker and that there is enough space for the speaker and back can.
2. Use the provided template to mark the cutout on the ceiling.
3. If necessary, install the C-shaped support backing plate from below through the cutout to reinforce the top of the ceiling material.
4. Attach the tile bridge rails to the C-plate to extend support to the T-channel grid in suspended ceiling installations.
5. Connect the speaker wires to the removable locking connector provided with the speaker. The connector has separate terminals for the input and loop-through wires.
6. Securely mount the speaker into the cutout by tightening the three mounting tabs onto the C-plate or directly onto the ceiling material.
7. If desired, paint the speaker trim and grille to match the decor. Use the provided paint shield to cover the drivers while painting the rim.
8. Connect the speaker to an external amplifier using speaker wires. The JBL Control 24CT-BK is a passive speaker and requires an external amplifier for operation.
9. Adjust the tap settings on the front panel of the speaker to match the requirements of your distributed-line system. The taps can be selected using the rotary switch located under the grille.
10. Once the installation is complete, restore power and test the speaker to ensure proper functionality.
