To connect the BOSS Audio Systems BPS80 Amplified Subwoofer to your car's audio system, follow these steps:
1. Determine the type of input your car's audio system has:
- If your factory radio has speaker level outputs, you can use the high-level inputs on the subwoofer.
- If your factory radio has RCA outputs, you can use the low-level RCA inputs on the subwoofer.
2. Connecting using high-level inputs (speaker level):
a. Locate the speaker outputs from your factory radio.
b. Connect the high-level input harness/wire from the subwoofer to the speaker outputs of your factory radio.
c. Make sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires.
d. Connect the ground terminal of the subwoofer to a suitable grounding point on the vehicle's chassis.
e. Connect the remote terminal of the subwoofer to the remote output of your head unit using 16 gauge (or heavier) wire.
f. Connect an empty fuse holder within 18" (45 cm) of the car battery and run 8 gauge (or heavier) cable from this fuse to the amplifier location.
g. Connect the fuse holder to the "BATT+" connection on the subwoofer.
3. Connecting using low-level RCA inputs:
a. Locate the RCA outputs on your factory radio or other signal source.
b. Connect the RCA cables from the RCA outputs of your factory radio to the low-level RCA inputs on the subwoofer.
c. Make sure to connect the left and right channels correctly.
d. Connect the ground terminal and remote terminal as mentioned in step 2e and 2f.
4. Once all the connections are made, double-check the wiring and ensure proper polarity.
5. Reconnect the vehicle battery.
6. Power up your car's audio system and adjust the volume control on the head unit to a moderate level.
7. Adjust the input sensitivity and other controls on the subwoofer to achieve the desired sound.
