To connect your Acoustic Audio PSW500-12 subwoofer to your receiver, you have a few options depending on the available connections on your receiver. Here are the step-by-step instructions for each option:
Option 1: Connection with Audio Cable (recommended)
1. Make sure your receiver has a Subwoofer Out jack.
2. Locate the subwoofer output jack on the back of your receiver.
3. Using a standard audio cable, connect the subwoofer output on the back of your receiver to the Line-In jack on the back of the subwoofer.
4. If your receiver has only one subwoofer out jack, you may need a Y splitter adapter to connect both the left and right channels. Most models include this adapter.
Option 2: Connection with Speaker Wire
1. Connect speaker wires from the receiver's front left and right speaker outputs to the subwoofer's Speaker-In terminals.
2. Connect the left channel speaker wire to the left input terminal on the subwoofer, and the right channel speaker wire to the right input terminal.
3. If your receiver has speaker B outputs, you can connect your main speakers to those outputs. Otherwise, you can connect your main speakers to the speaker outputs on the subwoofer.
Option 3: Connection with LFE
1. Connect the LFE output on your receiver to the LFE input on the back of the subwoofer using a double insert RCA cable.
2. Split the RCA cable into a white side and a red side. Use either the white or red side to connect the LFE output on the receiver to the LFE input on the subwoofer.
3. Connect speaker wires from the receiver's front left and right speaker outputs to the subwoofer's Speaker-In terminals, following the same instructions as Option 2.
Note: Make sure to maintain proper signal polarity by connecting the red wire to the red terminal and the black wire to the black terminal.
