To install the Rockford Fosgate T252-S Aluminum Component Speaker System, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal to prevent damage to the unit, fire, and possible injury.
2. Read and understand the instructions provided in the operational manual before starting the installation.
3. Run all wires before mounting the speakers for easier assembly.
4. Use high-quality connectors to ensure a reliable installation and minimize signal or power loss.
5. Be cautious when drilling or cutting to avoid damaging gas tanks, fuel lines, brake or hydraulic lines, vacuum lines, or electrical wiring.
6. Avoid running wires underneath the vehicle and instead run them inside the vehicle or hull area for better protection.
7. Use rubber or plastic grommets to protect wires routed through metal, especially the firewall.
8. Determine the mounting location for the speakers, ensuring it is large enough and deep enough to accommodate the speaker.
9. Operate all functions (windows, locks, etc.) in the mounting location to ensure there are no obstructions.
10. Refer to the specification chart and template provided in the manual to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your speaker model.
11. Mark the locations for the mounting screws and drill the holes using a 1/8" bit.
12. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals, observing proper polarity.
13. Fit the speaker into the cutout, align it with the remaining mounting holes, and tighten the screws until the speaker is snug in place to prevent rattling. Do not over tighten the screws.
14. If needed, use the adapter plate provided to mount the speaker.
Please refer to the operational manual for additional information and specific instructions for your installation.
