To install the Rockford Fosgate T1T-S Power 1" Tweeter Kit, follow these steps:
1. Determine where you want to mount the speakers. Make sure the mounting location is large enough and deep enough for the speakers to fit properly. If mounting in a door, check for any obstructions by operating all functions (windows, locks, etc.) through their entire range.
2. Refer to the specification chart in the manual to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your speaker model. Cutting and mounting templates can be found on the Rockford Fosgate website.
3. Mark the locations for the mounting screws and drill the holes using a 1/8" bit.
4. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals. Make sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires (positive to positive, negative to negative).
5. Fit the trim ring over the speaker and mount it into place using four screws. Tighten the screws until the speaker is snug to prevent rattling, but be careful not to over-tighten.
6. For the tweeters, determine the mounting location and mark the hole. Drill the hole using a standard 1.75 inch (45mm) hole saw.
7. Secure the inner cup of the tweeter from the front of the door panel to the outer cup from the back of the door panel using a single center xxxx . Tighten the xxxx until balanced pressure is applied to both faces of the mounting surface.
8. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals, observing proper polarity. The tweeter's positive lead wire is indicated by a red wire and the negative lead wire is indicated by a black wire.
9. Snap the tweeter into place and secure it with a snap-on trim ring. The protective grille on the tweeter is non-removable and an integral part of the design.
10. Once the speakers and tweeters are installed, you can proceed with the wiring. Follow the wiring diagram in the manual for the proper connection and make sure to maintain speaker polarity.
11. If desired, you can adjust the tweeter settings using the ON/OFF Axis Switch and the Tweeter Attenuation Switch. Refer to the manual for more information on these settings.
Remember to practice safe sound and follow all safety precautions mentioned in the manual. If you have any further questions or need assistance, you can contact Rockford Fosgate customer service with your serial number, model number, and date of purchase.
