To pair the Motorola Solutions DLR1020 Two-Way Radio Walkie Talkies, follow these steps:
1. Turn on both radios by rotating the On/Off/Volume xxxx clockwise.
2. Press the Menu button on one of the radios to enter the menu mode.
3. Use the Channel Up/Down buttons to navigate to the "Pair Radios" option and press the Menu button to select it.
4. The radio will display "Start Pairing" and emit a tone. Within 10 seconds, do the same on the other radio by pressing the Menu button, navigating to the "Pair Radios" option, and selecting it.
5. The radios will search for each other and automatically pair. Once paired, the radio will display "Pairing Complete" and emit a confirmation tone.
6. To confirm the pairing, press the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button on one radio and speak into the microphone. The audio should be transmitted to the other radio.
Note: If the radios fail to pair, ensure that they are within range of each other (up to 300,000 square feet in ideal conditions) and that no other radios are attempting to pair nearby. Also, make sure both radios are on the same channel and have the same Interference Eliminator Code (if enabled).
