To align the Celestron 11049 NexStar 4SE Telescope, follow the steps below:
1. Set up the telescope: Place the telescope on a stable and level surface. Ensure that the tripod legs are fully extended and locked in place.
2. Power on the telescope: Connect the power source to the telescope and turn it on. The power button is located on the hand control.
3. Choose an alignment method: The NexStar 4SE Telescope offers three alignment methods: SkyAlign, Auto 2-Star Align, and Auto 1-Star Align. Choose the method that suits your preference and observing conditions.
a) SkyAlign: This method is recommended for most users. It uses a built-in database of stars and celestial objects to align the telescope. Follow the on-screen instructions to select alignment stars and center them in the eyepiece.
b) Auto 2-Star Align: This method is useful when you are familiar with the night sky and can identify two alignment stars. The hand control will guide you through the process of selecting and centering the stars.
c) Auto 1-Star Align: This method is suitable for quick and simple alignment. It uses a single alignment star to set up the telescope.
4. Center alignment stars: Once you have chosen an alignment method, the hand control will display the name of the first alignment star. Use the arrow buttons on the hand control to move the telescope until the star is centered in the eyepiece. Press the Enter button to confirm.
5. Repeat for additional alignment stars: If you are using the SkyAlign or Auto 2-Star Align method, the hand control will prompt you to select and center additional alignment stars. Follow the instructions and repeat the process.
6. Confirm alignment: After aligning the telescope, the hand control will display a confirmation message. If the alignment was successful, you can now navigate the night sky using the hand control's arrow buttons.
