To install the Rockford Fosgate T1693 3-Way Full-Range Speaker, follow these steps:
1. Before beginning the installation, disconnect the negative lead from the battery to prevent damage to the unit and ensure safety.
2. Determine where you want to mount the speakers. Make sure the mounting location is large enough and deep enough for the speaker to fit properly. If mounting in a door, operate all functions (windows, locks, etc.) to ensure there are no obstructions.
3. Refer to the specification chart in the manual to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your speaker model. Cutting and mounting templates can be found on the Rockford Fosgate website.
4. Mark the locations for the mounting screws and drill the holes using a 1/8" bit.
5. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals. Make sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires. The positive terminal is indicated with a "+" symbol.
6. For models with slotted holes, fit the speaker into the cutout and install the screws in the slots at the top and bottom. This allows you to rotate the speaker to match the remaining mounting holes. Once aligned, tighten the screws.
7. For models with a trim ring, fit the trim ring over the speaker and mount it into place using four screws.
8. Tighten the screws until the speaker is snug in place to prevent rattling. Do not over-tighten the screws.
Please note that these are general installation instructions. For more specific details and illustrations, refer to the Rockford Fosgate T1693 3-Way Full-Range Speaker Instruction Guide provided with your product.
