To install the Rockford Fosgate T1692 2-Way Full-Range Speaker, follow these steps:
1. Before beginning the installation, disconnect the negative lead from the battery to prevent any damage or injury.
2. Carefully read and understand the instructions provided in the user manual.
3. Determine where you want to mount the speakers and ensure that the mounting location is large enough and deep enough for the speakers to fit properly.
4. If mounting the speakers in a door, operate all functions (windows, locks, etc.) through their entire operating range to ensure there are no obstructions.
5. Refer to the specification chart in the manual to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your speaker model.
6. Use the provided cutting and mounting templates, which can be found on the Rockford Fosgate website, to mark the locations for the mounting screws.
7. Drill the holes with a 1/8" bit.
8. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals, making sure to observe proper polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative).
9. If your speaker model has slotted holes, fit the speaker into the cutout and install the screws in the slots at the top and bottom. This will allow you to rotate the speaker to match the remaining mounting holes. Once aligned, tighten the screws.
10. If your speaker model has a trim ring, fit the trim ring over the speaker and mount it into place using four screws.
11. Tighten the screws until the speaker is snug in place to prevent any rattling, but be careful not to over tighten them.
