1. Before beginning the installation, disconnect the negative lead from the battery to prevent any damage to the unit, fire, or possible injury.
2. Determine where you want to mount the speakers in your vehicle. Make sure the mounting location is large enough for the speaker to mount evenly and deep enough to accommodate the speaker's size. If mounting in a door, operate all functions (windows, locks, etc.) through their entire operating range to ensure there are no obstructions.
3. Refer to the specification chart in the manual to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your speaker model. Cutting and mounting templates can be found on the Rockford Fosgate website.
4. Mark the locations for the mounting screws on the mounting surface. Drill the holes using a 1/8" bit.
5. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals. Make sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires. The positive terminal is indicated with a "+" symbol.
6. If your speaker model has slotted holes, fit the speaker into the cutout and install the screws in the slots at the top and bottom. This will allow you to rotate the speaker to match the remaining mounting holes. Once aligned, tighten the screws.
7. If your speaker model has a trim ring, fit the trim ring over the speaker and mount it into place using four screws.
8. Tighten the screws until the speaker is snug in place to prevent any rattling. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws.
