To convert cassette tapes to MP3 using the Pyle PCASRSD17.5 Converter Player Recorder, please follow these steps:
1. Power supply: You can use the USB cable provided in the package to power the device. Alternatively, you can use 2 AA batteries by opening the lid of the deck and inserting the batteries into the groove.
2. Insert a cassette: Slide down the lid switcher to open the lid and place the cassette into the device.
3. Connect a speaker or earphone: Use an AUX cable to connect a speaker or earphone to the "AUX" port of the device. This will allow you to listen to the cassette while converting it to MP3.
4. Connect a USB flash drive: Plug a USB flash drive (or a USB card reader with an SD card) into the "OTG" port of the device. The green indicator light will turn on to indicate that the USB flash drive is connected.
Note: The device can still play cassettes even without a USB flash drive, but the conversion function will only work when a USB flash drive is connected.
5. Play the cassette: Press the "PLAY" button on the top of the device to start playing the cassette. Adjust the volume to your preference using the volume control.
6. Manual mode recording: If you want to manually convert the cassette to MP3, ensure that the cassette is playing and the USB flash drive is connected. The device should be in standby mode with the green indicator light on. Press the "Record" button to start recording (converting) the music from the cassette to MP3 format. The green indicator light will flash quickly during recording. Press the "Record" button again to stop recording and save the MP3 file on the USB flash drive.
7. Auto mode recording: To use the automatic mode, put the device in standby mode with the blue indicator light on. When the cassette is playing and the USB flash drive is connected, the device will detect each interval between two songs and save them as separate MP3 files. For example, if you have 6 songs on one side of the cassette, the device will automatically save 7 MP3 files on the USB flash drive. The device will create a new folder named "TAPEMP3" on the USB flash drive and save each MP3 file with names like "FV0001" to "FV9999".
8. Playback: The device also has a playback function to listen to the recorded MP3 files. In standby mode, press the "Playback" button to start playing the recorded music. The indicator light will slowly flash during playback. Press the "Playback" button again to stop playback and return to standby mode. Use the up/down buttons to choose to play the previous or next file.
Note: Only MP3 files in the "TAPEMP3" folder on the USB flash drive can be played on the device.
