To connect the Garmin AP-DA214 Marine Zone Amplifier to your stereo and speakers, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the audio system before making any connections to the amplifier.
2. Connect the power wires: Use a 16 AWG copper-coated aluminum power wire to connect the red wire to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black wire to the negative (-) battery terminal. Make sure to use an inline fuse or circuit breaker rated for 15 A.
3. Connect the REMOTE ON signal wire: Connect the blue wire from the amplifier wiring harness to either the AMPLIFIER ON wire from the connected stereo or to a constant 12 or 24 Vdc power source using a switch. It is recommended to connect it to the AMPLIFIER ON wire to avoid any popping sound when the stereo turns on or off.
4. Connect the RCA input connectors: Use a 2-way RCA cable to connect the red RCA connector to the right output zone from your stereo and the white RCA connector to the left output zone.
5. Connect the speaker wires: Connect the gray speaker wires (positive and negative) to the right speakers and the white speaker wires (positive and negative) to the left speakers. Make sure to use 18 AWG tinned copper speaker wire for the connections.
6. Once all the connections are made, you can configure the amplifier using the Fusion-Link app. Follow the instructions in your stereo owner's manual to download the app and connect it to the stereo. Select the appropriate amplifier, speakers, and/or subwoofer(s) for each zone in the app. Send the DSP profile to the connected stereo and test the sound. Repeat the process until the audio system sounds satisfactory.
