To establish communication on the Raymarine E70517 VHF Radio with Hailer and GPS, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the VHF radio by pressing the power button.
2. Select the desired channel by using the channel up/down buttons or the numeric keypad.
3. To communicate with another nautical station, start by calling on channel 16, which is the designated calling frequency for VHF radios.
4. Press the transmit button (usually labeled as PTT or Push-To-Talk) and speak clearly into the microphone. Release the transmit button to listen.
5. Once communication has been established, you can switch to a different channel or frequency that is more effective for your conversation. Channels 72, 73, or 77 are commonly used for communication with other vessels on the VHF.
Please refer to the instruction guide provided with the Raymarine E70517 VHF Radio for detailed instructions on operating the radio and accessing its additional features such as the hailer and GPS functions.
