To connect the JBL104-BT-WH Desktop Reference Monitors to your device, follow these steps:
1. Placement: Place the speakers on your work surface, ensuring that the MASTER MONITOR is in close proximity to a power outlet. Position the speakers at arm's length, forming an equilateral triangle with your listening position. Angle each speaker so that it is aimed at your listening position.
2. Connection: Use the included wire to connect the EXTENSION MONITOR to the MASTER MONITOR by inserting the positive (red) wire and the negative (black) wire into the corresponding terminals on both speakers.
3. Power: Connect the power cord to the POWER inlet located on the rear of the MASTER MONITOR. Plug the power cord into a suitable power outlet.
4. Audio Connections: Depending on your device, you have multiple options for audio connections:
- Balanced/Unbalanced Professional Audio Equipment: If your device has high-level outputs (up to +4 dBu nominal), such as professional computer audio interfaces or mixing consoles, use the 6.5 mm (1/4") TRS inputs on the MASTER MONITOR.
- Unbalanced Consumer Audio Equipment: If your device has consumer-level signal levels (-10 dBV nominal), such as personal music players or consumer audio receivers, use the RCA inputs on the MASTER MONITOR.
- Personal Music Players and Smartphones: You can conveniently connect these devices to the front-panel AUX IN jack on the MASTER MONITOR using a 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo plug.
5. Volume Control: Before making audio connections, ensure that the VOLUME control on the MASTER MONITOR is set to the full counter-clockwise (minimum) position. After connecting your device, you can adjust the playback level using the VOLUME control.
Once you have completed these steps, power on your audio equipment and set the POWER switch on the MASTER MONITOR to the ON position. Adjust the VOLUME control on the MASTER MONITOR to achieve a comfortable listening level.
