The WeatherX WR182R Weatherband Radio can be charged using different methods. Here are the steps for each charging option:
1. Battery Power:
- The radio requires 3 AA batteries (not included).
- Set the Power switch to AA Battery mode.
2. Dynamo Hand-Crank:
- Set the Power switch to Rechargeable mode.
- Pull out the Dynamo Hand-Crank.
- Turn the cranking handle at a speed of approximately 2 turns per second.
- The unit can be powered by the Dynamo Hand-Crank, and it will also recharge the internal battery or slowly charge connected devices.
3. AC Power:
- To power the unit, plug in a DC 4.5V output 500mA anode pole adapter (not included) into a standard AC outlet.
Note: When using the Dynamo Hand-Crank, make sure both the radio and the flashlight are turned off. Turning the handle slower than the recommended speed may result in the battery not receiving a charge. It is recommended to shut off both the flashlight and radio and recharge the battery to full capacity before continuing use for long periods of time. To preserve the battery, charge the unit using the Dynamo Hand Crank at least once a month.
