To properly install the Powerbass OE-675 6.75'' to 6.5'' OEM Replacement Speaker, follow these steps:
1. Read the user guide thoroughly before starting the installation process.
2. If you are not experienced with mechanical and electrical procedures, it is recommended to have the speakers installed by an Authorized PowerBass Dealer.
3. Ensure you have the necessary tools for installation, such as an electric drill, screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimping tool, and needle-nose pliers.
4. Take necessary precautions, such as wearing protective eyewear, turning off all stereo and electrical devices, and disconnecting the negative lead from your vehicle's battery.
5. Keep the speakers in the package until final installation.
6. Check for enough clearance behind the mounting surface before installing the speakers.
7. Use grommets when running speaker wires through sheet metal to insulate them from metal edges.
8. The PowerBass Autosound speakers can be used above or below the mounting hole. Factory speaker cutouts can usually accommodate these new speakers without modifications.
9. Ensure there are no air leaks between the front and back of the speaker once installed.
10. For door installations, check the clearance of the window and roll-up mechanisms to ensure they clear the speaker structure.
11. Check the available mounting depth before installing the speaker. Be careful when removing factory grills, door panels, and factory speakers.
12. Refer to the wiring diagram provided in the user guide to properly wire the speakers based on your OEM amplifier's impedance requirements.
13. Follow the recommended power supply guidelines to avoid under-powering or clipping your amplifier, which can damage the speakers.
14. Pay attention to the polarity of the speaker wire connections to ensure optimum sound reproduction and performance.
15. Avoid mounting speakers or external crossovers where they may get wet.
