To connect the Polk Reserve Series R200 Large Bookshelf Speaker to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the speaker wire: Strip 0.5” (12.7mm) of insulation from each of the two conductors of the wire to expose the bare metal. Twist each of the individual conductors into single un-frayed strands.
2. Identify the terminals: On the rear of each speaker, you will find two terminals. One terminal is marked red (+) and the other is black (-).
3. Connect the wire: Connect the wire from the positive (+) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the red (+) terminal on your speaker. Connect the wire from the negative (-) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the black (-) terminal on your speaker. Make sure to maintain consistency with the wire connections.
4. Choose the type of connection: You have several options when choosing connectors for your speaker wires, such as banana plugs, spade lugs, or bare wire. Choose the connector type that suits your preference and connect the wire accordingly.
5. Repeat for the other speaker: Repeat steps 2-4 for the second speaker, ensuring that you connect the wires to the corresponding terminals.
6. Position the speakers: Place the speakers in the desired location, ensuring proper stability and alignment.
7. Test the connection: Once the speakers are connected, turn on your audio system and play some audio to test the connection. Adjust the volume and settings as needed.
Note: For bi-wiring or bi-amping configurations, refer to the specific instructions provided in the manual.
