To install the Rockford Fosgate TMS6SG 6.5" Full Range Fairing Speakers, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal before starting the installation to prevent damage to the unit and ensure safety.
2. Depending on your motorcycle model, refer to the specific instructions provided in the manual for fairing removal. For Ultra Classic, Electra Glide, Street Glide, and Tri Glide models, remove the windshield and then the screws on the inside of the fairing to remove it. For Road Glide and Road Glide Ultra models, remove the inner fairing screws and unbolt the turn signal brackets to release the fairing.
3. After removing the fairing, unplug the wires from both speaker terminals and remove the screws securing the factory speaker and grille. Keep track of the wires that are plugged into the clutch and brake side speakers.
4. Insert the new Rockford speaker and grille assembly into the fairing opening with the wire terminals facing up. Use the included screws to securely mount the speakers to the fairing. Note that there are two xxxx lengths included in the hardware pack, and for this fairing application, use the longer screws on the top two mounting holes of the speaker.
5. Connect the speakers by sliding the speaker wire connectors over the speaker terminals. The smaller terminal is the positive (+), and the larger terminal is the negative (-).
6. For Tour-Pak models, unscrew the speaker grilles from the rear pods and remove the factory speaker. Disconnect the factory wiring from the speaker terminal and remove the speaker.
7. Connect the new Rockford speaker by sliding the speaker wire connector over the speaker terminals. The smaller terminal is the positive (+), and the larger terminal is the negative (-). Insert the new speaker into the speaker pod and place the grille over the speaker. Attach the grille with the included screws to mount it to the pod.
