To pair the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) with your iPad, follow these steps:
1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad. You can check this by going to Settings > Bluetooth.
2. Remove the cap from the Apple Pencil.
3. Connect the Lightning connector on your iPad to the charging port on the Apple Pencil.
4. Look for the Pair button on your iPad's screen. When you see it, tap on it.
5. Your Apple Pencil will now be paired with your iPad. It will remain paired until you restart your iPad, activate Airplane Mode, or pair it with another iPad.
Note: You can also check the charge level of your Apple Pencil by connecting it to your iPad. The charge level will briefly appear on the screen. Additionally, you can check the Today View on your iPad while using the Apple Pencil to see how much power is remaining.
