The Polk Audio DB842-DVC ATV & Car Subwoofer can be wired in various configurations depending on your desired impedance load. Here are the wiring options:
1. Single Voice Coil Hookup:
- Single 4 Ohm Load: If you have a single 4 Ohm speaker, it will present a 4 Ohm load.
- Dual 4 Ohm Load: If you have a dual 4 Ohm speaker, you can wire the coils in parallel to present a 2 Ohm load or wire them in series to present an 8 Ohm load.
2. Multiple Subwoofers:
- Two dual 4 Ohm speakers: You can wire the coils in series and the speakers in parallel to present a 4 Ohm load.
- Two dual 4 Ohm speakers (not recommended unless amplifier is rated for 1 Ohm operation): You can wire the coils and speakers in parallel to present a 1 Ohm load.
- Three dual 4 Ohm speakers: You can wire the coils in series and the speakers in parallel to present a 2.7 Ohm load.
Please make sure to check if your amplifier is rated to handle the specified load to avoid any damage.
