To connect the Q Acoustics 3070 Active Subwoofer to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Make sure all electronics in your system are switched off at the mains before starting the connection process.
2. Use a high-quality RCA phono interconnect cable to connect the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT on your AV amplifier to the L/Mono Line input on the subwoofer. Ensure that the plugs are pushed firmly into place for a secure connection.
3. Set the controls on the subwoofer to their default settings: Level at approximately half, Crossover fully clockwise (AV setting), Phase invert at 0°, and Auto on set to AUTO or ON.
4. Plug the supplied power cord into the subwoofer and then into an AC supply socket. Switch on the power at the supply socket and then turn the power switch on the subwoofer to 'ON'. The POWER light on the subwoofer amplifier panel should glow, indicating that the subwoofer is operational.
5. Check the settings on your AV amplifier to ensure that the subwoofer is set to 'ON' or 'YES'. The subwoofer level on the AV amplifier should be set at its default position or 0dB. Also, set the speaker sizes and positions for all the other speakers in your system according to your amplifier's instructions.
6. Play some stereo music that you are familiar with and experiment with the Phase invert setting and level control on the subwoofer until you achieve a seamless blend between the front speakers and the subwoofer. Avoid setting the subwoofer level too high, as it may overpower the other speakers.
7. Fine-tune the performance of the subwoofer by adjusting the Crossover control. This control determines at what frequency the subwoofer's output begins to diminish. Set it to correspond with the frequency at which your main speakers produce a strong output. Refer to the specifications of your main speakers for guidance on the appropriate crossover frequency.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully connect and set up the Q Acoustics 3070 Active Subwoofer for optimal performance in your audio system. For more detailed instructions and information, refer to the user guide provided with the product.
