To connect external devices to your Samsung UN48J5000 TV, you will need to use the appropriate input cables. Here are the steps to connect a DVD player and gaming console:
1. DVD Player:
- Use a composite (AV) cable to connect the DVD player to the TV.
- Plug one end of the composite cable into the composite (AV) output on the DVD player.
- Plug the other end of the composite cable into the composite (AV) input on the TV.
- Make sure to match the colors of the plugs and jacks (yellow for video, red and white for audio).
2. Gaming Console:
- Use an HDMI cable to connect the gaming console to the TV.
- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI output on the gaming console.
- Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into one of the HDMI inputs on the TV.
- Note the HDMI input number you used for the connection (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.).
Once the devices are connected, you can switch between them by pressing the SOURCE button on the TV remote control and selecting the corresponding HDMI input for the gaming console or the composite (AV) input for the DVD player.
