To install the CERWIN Vega XED525C 2-Way Component Speakers in your car, follow these steps:
1. Tweeter Installation:
- Determine the desired location for the tweeters and ensure it can accommodate the required hole sizes and depth.
- You can flush mount the tweeters by cutting a 1.75-inch (45mm) round opening and mounting the flush mount bezel.
- Alternatively, you can surface mount the tweeters on the dash, door, or rear deck using the provided surface cup and screws.
- Route the speaker wires through the tweeter cup, connect the tweeter to the wires, and snap the tweeter into the cup.
2. Crossover Installation:
- Install the passive crossovers in a well-ventilated area, preferably behind the door panel instead of inside the door itself.
- Connect the input side labeled "AMP" of each passive crossover to the amplifier's speaker output terminals, observing correct polarity.
- Connect the middle terminals labeled "MID" to the midrange speaker, ensuring secure and protected wiring.
- Finally, connect the end terminals labeled "TWT" to the tweeter, again observing correct polarity.
3. Speaker Installation:
- Choose the location for mounting the speakers, such as the rear deck.
- For top mounting, drop the speakers in through the deck, and for bottom mounting, secure the speakers from underneath.
- Ensure a good seal around the frame of the speakers to prevent air leaks.
- Mount the speakers to a flat surface known as a baffle to isolate the front sound waves from the rear sound waves.
