To connect the Cerwin-Vega CWV SL12 3-Way Floor Tower Speaker to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Determine the type of speaker wire connection you will be using. The most common connection is using bare wire. Strip 1/2" to 5/8" of insulation from the ends of the speaker cable to expose the bare wire and twist the bare wires tightly.
2. Unscrew the binding-post cover on the speaker to expose a hole in the metal post. Insert the bare wire into the hole, making sure that the positive terminal on the speaker connects to the positive terminal on the amplifier, and the negative terminal on the speaker connects to the negative terminal on the amplifier. For split spade lug connections, place the "U" shape against the metal post. For banana plugs, remove the plastic cover and insert into the top of the posts without unscrewing the binding post cover.
3. xxxx the binding-post cover back on to securely hold the connection in place.
Note: It is important to observe correct polarity when connecting the speaker wires. Failure to do so can result in poor sound balance and decreased bass response.
