Connecting the CERWIN VEGA SL25C Center Channel Speaker to your amplifier is a straightforward process. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Determine the type of speaker wire connection you will be using. The most common connection is using bare wire.
2. Strip 1/2" to 5/8" (12 to 15mm) of insulation from the ends of the speaker cable to expose the bare wire. Twist the bare wires tightly.
3. Unscrew the binding-post cover on the back of the speaker to expose a hole in the metal post.
4. Insert the positive (red) wire into the hole of the positive terminal on the speaker and the negative (black) wire into the hole of the negative terminal on the speaker. Make sure the positive terminal on the speaker connects to the positive terminal on the amplifier, and the negative terminal on the speaker connects to the negative terminal on the amplifier.
5. If you are using split spade lug connectors, simply place the "U" shape against the metal post.
6. If you are using banana plugs, do not unscrew the binding post cover. Remove the plastic cover and insert the banana plug into the top of the posts.
7. xxxx the binding-post cover back on so that the connection is securely touching the metal post and will not fall out.
It is important to observe correct polarity when connecting the speaker wires. Failure to do so may result in poor sound balance and decreased bass response.
