To connect the Cerwin-Vega SL-5M speakers to your amplifier or receiver, follow these steps:
1. Determine the type of speaker wire connection you will be using. The most common connection is using bare wire.
2. Strip 1/2" to 5/8" (12 to 15mm) of insulation from the ends of the speaker cable to expose the bare wire. Twist the bare wires tightly.
3. Unscrew the binding-post cover on the back of each speaker to expose a hole in the metal post.
4. Insert the positive (marked) wire or pin connector into the positive terminal hole on the speaker, and the negative wire into the negative terminal hole. Make sure the positive terminal on the speaker connects to the positive terminal on the amplifier or receiver, and the negative terminal on the speaker connects to the negative terminal on the amplifier or receiver.
5. For split spade lug connections, place the "U" shape of the lug against the metal post.
6. For banana plugs, remove the plastic cover on the binding post and simply insert the banana plug into the top of the post.
7. xxxx the binding-post cover back on to securely hold the wire or connector in place.
8. Repeat these steps for the other speaker.
Note: It is important to observe correct polarity when connecting the speakers. Failure to do so can result in poor sound balance and decreased bass response.
Once the speakers are properly connected, you can connect your amplifier or receiver to a power source and start enjoying your Cerwin-Vega SL-5M speakers. For more detailed information, please refer to the user manual provided with the speakers.
