To connect the Pyle PLUTV42CH.5 2-Channel Marine Grade Waketower Speakers to your vehicle or boat, follow these steps:
1. Power Connection:
- Connect the battery terminal (BATT) directly to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery using a #12 gauge or thicker wire.
- Do not connect the battery terminal lead to any other point, such as the fuse block, as it may reduce power output and cause noise and distortion.
2. Ground Connection:
- Connect the ground terminal (GND) to a metal part of the vehicle close to the mounting location using a wire of the same gauge as the power connection (#8 or thicker).
- Ensure that the ground connection is as short as possible and that any paint or rust at the grounding point is scraped away for a clean metal surface.
3. Remote Turn-On Connection:
- Connect the remote turn-on terminal (REM) to the "Auto-Antenna" lead from the vehicle or boat stereo resources. This lead provides +12V only when the stereo resources are turned on.
- If the car stereo does not have an "Auto-Antenna" lead, you can wire the remote turn-on lead to an "Accessory" or "Radio" terminal in the vehicle or boat's fuse block. This will turn the amplifier on and off with the ignition key.
- Use #16 gauge wire for the remote turn-on lead.
4. Speaker Connections:
- Wire the speakers to the speaker terminals as per the appropriate wiring diagram.
- Use #18 gauge wire for most applications, but not thinner than #16 gauge.
- Pay careful attention to the polarity of the speaker terminals and ensure they correspond to the polarity of the corresponding terminals on the amplifier.
- Do not ground any speaker leads to the chassis of the vehicle or boat.
Once you have completed the connections, turn on the radio so that the amplifier is switched on automatically. Slowly turn up the volume using the volume control of the radio. If there is no sound or only distorted playback, switch off the radio immediately and check if all connections have been made correctly.
Please refer to the user manual for additional information and diagrams on the wiring connections.
