Sure! Here's a step-by-step guide on how to install DS18 Hydro NXL-8 marine speakers in your boat, as outlined in the owner's manual:
1. Before starting the installation, carefully read and understand the instructions provided in the manual.
2. For safety, disconnect the negative battery terminal from the battery before beginning the installation.
3. It is recommended to run all wires prior to mounting the speakers in place for easier assembly.
4. Use high-quality connectors for a reliable installation and to minimize signal or power loss.
5. Be cautious not to cut or drill into gas tanks, fuel lines, brake or hydraulic lines, vacuum lines, or electrical wiring when working on any vehicle. If installing in a boat, avoid cutting or drilling through the main hull.
6. Never run wires underneath the vehicle. Running the wires inside the vehicle or hull area provides better protection.
7. Avoid running wires over or through sharp edges. Use rubber or plastic grommets to protect any wires routed through metal, especially the firewall.
Mounting the Speakers:
1. Determine where you want to mount the speakers. Ensure the mounting location is large enough and deep enough to accommodate the speakers. Only mount them on a flat surface. Take extra caution when mounting on panels with urethane foam.
2. Refer to the specification chart in the manual to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your specific speaker model.
3. Mark the locations for the mounting screws and drill the holes using a 1/8" bit.
4. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals. Make sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires. The positive terminal is indicated with a "+" symbol.
5. Fit the speaker and mount into place using six (6) screws.
6. Tighten the screws until the speaker is snugly in place.
LED Connections:
There are two options for connecting the RGB LED lighting:
Option 1: Connect RGB wires to an RF RGB LED controller or WIFI RGB LED controller (optional).
Option 2: Connect the RGB wires to the battery (DC12V) using the speaker RGB LED fast terminal. The green wire connects to the battery positive terminal, while the red, blue, purple, yellow, and cyan wires connect to the battery negative terminal.
Please refer to the manual for additional information and illustrations on the installation process.
Note: It's always recommended to consult a professional or experienced installer if you are unsure about any aspect of the installation process.
