To install DS18 HYDRO CF-8M 2-Way Marine Speakers, follow these steps:
1. Read and understand the instructions in the owner's manual before starting the installation.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal from the battery for safety.
3. Run all wires before mounting the speakers to make assembly easier.
4. Use high-quality connectors for a reliable installation and to minimize signal or power loss.
5. Be cautious not to cut or drill into gas tanks, fuel lines, brake or hydraulic lines, vacuum lines, or electrical wiring when working on any vehicle. If installing in a boat, avoid cutting or drilling through the main hull.
6. Avoid running wires underneath the vehicle or boat. Running the wires inside the vehicle or hull area provides better protection.
7. Use rubber or plastic grommets to protect any wires routed through metal, especially the firewall.
8. Determine the mounting location for the speakers. Ensure the area is large enough and deep enough for the speakers to fit. Only mount to a flat surface. Take extra caution when mounting on panels with urethane foam.
9. Refer to the specification chart in the manual to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your speaker model.
10. Mark the locations for the mounting screws and drill the holes using a 1/8" bit.
11. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and connect them to the speaker terminals, observing proper polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative). The positive terminal is indicated with a "+" symbol.
12. Fit the speaker and mount into place using six (6) screws.
13. Tighten the screws until the speaker is snugly in place.
Please refer to the owner's manual for more detailed instructions and illustrations.
