To connect your JBL 580 Floorstanding Loudspeakers to your amplifier, follow these steps:
1. Make sure that all electrical components are turned off and unplugged before making any connections.
2. Identify the positive and negative connectors on both the speakers and the amplifier. The positive connectors are marked with red markings, while the negative connectors are marked with black markings.
3. Connect the positive connector on the back of the amplifier to the respective positive (red) connector on each speaker. Similarly, connect the negative connector on the amplifier to the respective negative (black) connector on each speaker. Make sure not to reverse the polarities.
4. Use the appropriate wire connector type for your setup. The gold-plated speaker connectors on the JBL 580 Floorstanding Loudspeakers can accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, and banana connectors.
5. If you are using bare wire or pin connectors, strip the wire ends and insert them into the corresponding connectors on both the speakers and the amplifier. Ensure a secure connection.
6. If you are using spade connectors, insert the spade ends into the corresponding connectors on both the speakers and the amplifier. Tighten the connectors to ensure a secure connection.
7. If you are using banana connectors, insert the banana plugs into the corresponding connectors on both the speakers and the amplifier. Make sure the plugs are fully inserted and secure.
8. Repeat the above steps for the other speaker in your setup.
9. Once all the connections are made, you can turn on your amplifier and enjoy the sound from your JBL 580 Floorstanding Loudspeakers.
Note: Do not remove the metal jumper bars between the two sets of connectors when connecting the speaker wires in a single-wire configuration. If you want to bi-wire the speakers, you can remove the jumper bars and connect separate wires for the compression-driver/horn assembly and the woofer(s).
