To install and set up the Elac Uni-Fi UC5 Center Speaker, follow these steps:
1. Speaker Placement: Place the center speaker above or below your television, aligning it with the center of the screen. Try to keep it at the same height as your front speakers for a more even sound stage.
2. Connecting Wires: Use appropriate gauge wires (minimum 14 gauge) to connect the speaker to your amplifier or receiver. Ensure that the wire polarity is connected correctly, with positive (red) connections matching on both the speaker and amplifier.
3. Magnetically Attached Grills: The mesh grill of the speaker is removable. To remove it, gently pull on the top or bottom edges. To replace the grill, place it in the normal position on the cabinet, and the magnets will hold it in place.
4. Optional Outrigger Feet & Spike Installation: If you have the UF5 or FS U5 model, you can use the included outrigger feet and spikes for added stability. Attach the outrigger plates with the provided machine screws and xxxx in the spikes. Use caution when handling the spikes, as they are sharp. Use the supplied floor discs to protect your floor from damage.
5. Speaker Calibration: Set up your amplifier or receiver according to your desired configuration (stereo or surround sound). Adjust the settings for the center channel size and crossover frequency (between 50 to 100Hz) for optimal results.
