To connect the Cerwin-Vega XLS-12 Way Home Audio Floor Tower Speaker to your amplifier or receiver, you have two options: normal wiring and bi-wiring. Here are the steps for each option:
Normal Wiring:
1. Attach one end of your speaker wires to either the Midrange and Tweeter Input or the Woofer Input 5-way Binding Posts on the back of the speaker. Make sure to observe correct polarity (Red = +, Black = -) when making these connections.
2. Connect the other end of the speaker wires to the speaker output terminals on your amplifier or receiver. Refer to your amplifier or receiver's owner's manual for details on this connection.
Bi-Wiring:
1. Remove the Jumper Straps from the Midrange and Tweeter Input and Woofer Input 5-way Binding Posts on the back of the speaker. Retain the Jumper Straps for possible future use.
2. Attach one set of speaker wires to the Midrange and Tweeter Input 5-way Binding Posts, and another set of speaker wires to the Woofer Input 5-way Binding Posts. Again, make sure to observe correct polarity.
3. Connect the other ends of the speaker wires to the speaker output terminals on your amplifier or receiver.
Note: The XLS-6 and XLS-6C models cannot be bi-wired.
It is recommended to discuss the wiring options with your Authorized Cerwin-Vega! Dealer and seek their recommendation on appropriate wire for your setup.
