To connect the Definitive Technology CS9040 Channel Speaker to your audio/video system, you have two connection options: Speaker-Level Only or Speaker-Level + LFE Connector. Here are the steps for each option:
Connection Option 1: Speaker-Level Only (recommended)
1. Connect speaker wire from your receiver/amplifier to the speaker level input on the back of the CS9040 speaker.
2. Adjust the settings on your receiver/processor to: Speaker (Large); Subwoofer (No).
Connection Option 2: Speaker-Level + LFE
1. Connect speaker wire from your receiver/amplifier to the speaker level input on the back of the CS9040 speaker.
2. Connect an RCA cable from the Center Channel Pre-Out on the back of your receiver/processor to the LFE Input on the back of the CS9040 speaker.
3. Adjust the settings on your receiver/processor to: Speaker (Small); Subwoofer (Yes).
Note: For CS9080 and CS9060 models, which have an integrated powered subwoofer, you will need to plug the speaker into an electrical socket to power the subwoofer. The LED logo on the front panel will indicate when the subwoofer is active.
