To connect the Definitive Technology CS-9080 Channel Speaker to your audio/video system, you have two connection options: Speaker-Level Only or Speaker-Level + LFE Connector. Here are the steps for each option:
Connection Option 1: Speaker-Level Only (recommended)
1. Connect speaker wire from your receiver/amplifier to the speaker level input on the back of the CS-9080 speaker.
2. Adjust your receiver/processor settings to: Speaker (Large); Subwoofer (No).
Connection Option 2: Speaker-Level + LFE
1. Connect speaker wire from your receiver/amplifier to the speaker level input on the back of the CS-9080 speaker.
2. Connect an RCA cable from the Center Channel Pre-Out on the back of your receiver/processor to the LFE Input on the back of the CS-9080 speaker.
3. Adjust your receiver/processor settings to: Speaker (Small); Subwoofer (Yes).
Note: If you choose Option 2, it is recommended to set the crossover point in your receiver/processor to 80Hz or below to maintain optimal blending between the subwoofer and midrange. Also, make sure to balance the subwoofer output level of your receiver and the bass control on the back of the CS-9080 speaker.
