To set up the SVS PRMTWRBPR Prime Tower Speakers, follow these steps:
1. Setting up the foot options: The Prime Tower speakers come with two sets of foot support options. The Elastomer Isolation feet come pre-installed and can be removed by unscrewing them. You can replace them with the included Threaded Metal Spike kit. Both sets of feet are threaded, allowing for easy leveling on uneven surfaces.
2. Acoustics and room placement: Proper placement of the speakers is crucial for optimal performance. Start by placing the front left/right speakers 30 degrees to the left and right of the listening position. Experiment with toe-in (5-10 degrees) and distance from room boundaries to improve imaging and bass response. The center channel should be placed directly on-axis with the primary seating position, and an upward tilt is recommended if it's located below head level. Surround speakers should be placed 90-110 degrees off-axis for a sense of spaciousness.
3. Speaker mounting: The Prime Satellites can be wall-mounted using the pre-installed keyhole bracket. Attach a xxxx to the desired mounting location and hang the speaker by inserting the keyhole bracket over the xxxx . Use the included rubber bumpers on the lower back corners to keep the speaker level and prevent spinning on the wall. Consider the mounted height for optimal positioning.
4. Speaker connection: The Prime Speakers have gold-plated 5-way binding posts that accept various wire terminations. Connect each speaker to the appropriate amp channel of your receiver/power amplifier. Maintain proper polarity between the speaker and the amplifier for proper performance.
5. Speaker wire gauge/length recommendations: Use the following gauge recommendations based on the length of speaker wire:
- 18 gauge (AWG): < 10ft
- 16 gauge (AWG): < 25ft
- 14 gauge (AWG): < 50ft
- 12 gauge (AWG): < 75ft
6. Caring for your Prime Speakers: Use a dry microfiber duster to remove loose surface dust. For fingerprints and smudges, use a water-damp microfiber cloth and wipe in one direction. Follow up with a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
7. Warranty: SVS offers a 5-year unconditional warranty on all Prime Speakers. The warranty covers defects in workmanship for 5 years from the date of purchase. Contact SVS Customer Service for any warranty-related inquiries.
