To optimize the performance and achieve a realistic sound stage, it is recommended to position the Focal SR900 2-Way Bipolar Surround Loudspeakers symmetrically, facing the listening area. Ideally, they should form an equilateral triangle with the listening area. The loudspeakers should be positioned at the same height, in the same horizontal plane. The tweeter should ideally be positioned at the same height as the listener's ear when listening normally. It is also important to avoid placing the loudspeakers too close to a corner or wall, as this can cause resonances and artificially increase the bass. Experimenting with the positioning and distance from the walls can help achieve the desired sound balance.
