To connect the Polk Audio S15 Bookshelf Speakers to your system, follow these steps:
1. Wire Preparation: Strip 1/2" (12.7mm) of insulation from each of the two conductors of the wire to expose the bare metal. Twist each of the individual conductors into single unfrayed strands.
2. Speaker Wire Connection: Connect the wire from the positive (+) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the red (+) terminal on your speaker. Connect the wire from the negative (-) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the black (-) terminal on your speaker. Make sure to maintain consistency with the wire connections.
3. Binding Posts: To connect the wire to the binding post, unscrew the binding post cap and insert the bare wire into the hole near the base of the binding post. Do not insert the insulated part of the wire into the hole. Tighten the binding post cap until it seats firmly with the wire, but do not over tighten.
4. Connectors: You have several options when choosing connectors for your speaker wires, such as banana plugs, spade lugs, or bare wire. Choose the option that suits your preference. If using banana plugs, carefully pry out the binding post plugs to expose the banana plug holes.
5. Amplifier/Receiver Settings: Set the speakers to "small" in your receiver's Bass Management Settings. This ensures optimum center and surround channel performance and reliability.
6. Placement: Position the speakers according to your setup. The Polk Audio S15 Bookshelf Speakers can be used as left, center, or right speakers. Follow the placement recommendations provided in the user guide for the best sound quality.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully connect the Polk Audio S15 Bookshelf Speakers to your system. For more detailed information and illustrations, refer to the user guide provided with the speakers.
